Course Overview
The framework is structured with a first Trimester studied at UWS followed by a second studied at the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin. In the first trimester, students will study subject specific modules whilst on one of University of the West of Scotland's campuses. Although the MA Cultural Diplomacy pathway has some core features, students studying on each pathway will also benefit from a degree of specialisation that will prepare them for a career in their chosen area of events, sport or music. Career prospectsThe MA Cultural Diplomacy and International Events framework from University of the West of Scotland provides students with practical experience for both academic and professional development, preparing students for careers in diverse fields, such as international sport events, sports policy, sport governing bodies, international relations, conferences and events, the humanities, politics, and culture, foreign policy and international policy. On a practical level, the international environment of the Center for Cultural Diplomacy Studies offers students a unique opportunity to interact with leading experts and academics at a wide variety of international organisations and research centres. This exceptional learning environment leads to original research and independent study opportunities. It allows students to create a solid professional network and form a concrete base for future academic and professional career choices, preparing students for engagement in the international arena, civil society, politics, governmental organisations and international economic organisations, as well as the private sector. Placement/Work-based learning, Students will have the opportunity to participate in a work-related learning within core modules delivered at ICD. They will also be able to choose a work experience credited module in Berlin for additional credit.
