Course Overview

The Master of Engineering (M. Eng.) in Bioengineering is a professional, non-thesis master's degree program designed for industry-bound professionals who seek to advance their technical breadth and depth in fields related to bioengineering, while developing a fundamental understanding of key business concepts. It bridges the skills gap by delving into greater technical depth than is possible in an undergraduate program. The program is offered both as an on-campus, one-year program as well as an online program. The online program can be completed at the student's pace, but can be completed in as few as 5 semesters. This rigorous program will provide students with the advanced technical knowledge in bioengineering and a core transcript, able concentration: Bioinstrumentation, Computational Genomics, and General Bioengineering. Each concentration will have a core set of requirements that meet the minimum requirements for the M. Eng. in Bioengineering degree. Are you. . an early career engineering professional preparing yourself for the next level at your organization? a recent engineering graduate looking to enter the industry with more technical know-how than a traditional entry-level professional? an international student looking to differentiate yourself with an advanced degree from a top engineering school? interested in building a career in the medical and health care field? Then Illinois' M. Eng. in Bioengineering program is for you! Students will be well-prepared for career opportunities through the educational experiences gained within this program. The rigor and challenge inherent in the program is designed to prepare you to be capable of functioning at a higher level within the medical and health care industry through the ability to accept greater technical responsibility, and to work more effectively by combining creative engineering skills with business understanding. Upon completion of the program, you'll be prepared to gain access to the first level of the engineering management track within industry.
