Course Overview

M Biotech is a 24 month, course-based professional degree incorporating both science and business courses with 8-12 months of work experience in the biotechnology, medical device and biopharmaceutical sectors. Students come from wide and varied backgrounds with the common goal of pursuing a career in the biotechnology, financial, and pharmaceutical industries. The program is designed to meet the evolving needs of students and this global industry sector. Lecturers from various University of Toronto Faculties and from biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries and governmental agencies provide a truly interdisciplinary learning experience. Introductory laboratory courses and a year-long work internship round out the broadly based learning environment. Our students come to the program with a strong work ethic, and learn to operate effectively in teams and develop their leadership skills. You also gain excellent opportunities to build your communications skills through frequent presentations to your class, and to the wider community. Innovative thinking and entrepreneurship are actively encouraged. When you graduate, a host of opportunities await.
