Course Overview

The Master of Enterprise degree reflects the nature of knowledge-based enterprise and innovation. Students develop ideas from their discipline into new products and services. The School of Chemistry has particular strengths in biological chemistry and organic synthesis, computational and theoretical chemistry, materials chemistry (inorganic and polymer), magnetic resonance and structural chemistry, radiochemistry and environmental chemistry and nanoscience. Manchester Science Enterprise Centre provides the enterprise element of the course and support in the business development activities undertaken by students. Each student has at least one subject supervisor, an enterprise supervisor and potentially a business mentor from a relevant industry sector. Career opportunities: Over the last 5 years the MEnt has helped its students launch over 30 successful new companies. In addition to launching new businesses the course is designed to help students maximise their potential by enhancing their subject knowledge with practical commercial skills and an understanding of business in a variety of contexts. Graduates have gone on to work for blue chip organisations such as Unilever, Rolls-Royce and Accenture.
