Course Overview

This MEng Computer Science with Cyber Security (Integrated Masters) course offered by University of Southampton will teach you the latest thinking in cyber security, including the concepts, principles, technologies and practices for addressing current and emerging cyber security threats and challenges. With cybercrime on a steep rise and cyber terrorism emerging as a national concern, the MEng Computer Science with Cyber Security is specifically designed to produce graduates with a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary view of the subject area, embracing the technical subjects in depth, but including important aspects of criminology, risk management, law and social sciences. We have strong relationships with employers, and our graduates are particularly in demand for their understanding of organisations and their practical abilities in the workplace. You could end up as part of a team writing next-generation secure operating and communication systems, working to block the spreading of malware, developing new defensive programming techniques, or work in government to protect our national infrastructures, fight cybercrime, or advance our cyber defences. Through our Cyber Security Academy you will be constantly in contact with leading companies active in cyber security, and will have the opportunity through summer internships to build an attractive professional profile from the start.
