Course Overview

USF offers four fully online graduate certificates specializing in cybersecurity. These interdisciplinary 12- to 18-credit hour programs are offered by the USF Colleges of Arts and Sciences; Behavioral and Community Science; Business; and Engineering. These programs allow you to gain knowledge through an interdisciplinary set of courses focused on one of four concentrations. Cyber Intelligence; Digital Forensics; and Information Assurance are available now, Computer Security Fundamentals is coming soon. All courses are fully online, and most courses are delivered in a convenient eight-week format that fits into the busy lives of working adults, allowing swift progression through the certificate. Cyber Intelligence, This graduate certificate requires six courses, for a total of 18 credit hours. The certificate focuses on helping you acquire and assess the intentions, capabilities, and activities of potential adversaries and insiders who pose a threat, including attack methods that target people to penetrate systems, sometimes referred to as social engineering. Digital Forensics, This graduate certificate requires five courses, for a total of 15 credit hours. The certificate focuses on digital forensics tradecraft, techniques and procedures, standards of practice, and legal and ethical principles, all assuring that digital evidence is accurate, complete, and reliable. The primary goal is to prepare you to investigate computer, cyber, electronic crimes; analyze networks that have been attacked or used for illicit purposes; and properly identify, collect, secure, and present digital evidence. Information Assurance, This graduate certificate requires four courses, for a total of 12 credit hours. The certificate focuses on providing you with a core foundation of knowledge and applied expertise in information security controls, the regulatory environment, and information risk management and incident response. You will take two core courses, plus two additional courses from a list of pre-approved electives. This allows you to compensate for any knowledge gaps, or to deepen your expertise in a particular dimension. Computer Security Fundamentals - Coming Soon, This graduate certificate requires four courses, for a total of 12 credit hours. More information is coming soon.
