Course Overview
The master of arts (MA) in educational psychology with an emphasis in learning and assessment provides educators with specialized training in psychological research, practice, and assessment related to learners in diverse educational settings. The program comprises coursework delivered in an online format that focuses on theory and research related to learners, learning and developmental processes, teaching, and the application of these processes to educational practice. Although the program does not lead to teacher certification, it can serve as a transitional degree for those interested in eventually pursuing a doctoral degree. The program also benefits certified school teachers looking for additional knowledge about performance assessment. Certified teachers who complete the degree will be eligible for master's level pay in the state of Alabama. Classes are offered online to complement busy schedules.
