Course Overview

The programme is closely aligned with the needs of the industry and is accredited by the Institute of Food Science and Technology, UK. Key areas, such as hazard analysis and the legal framework for food production, are fully covered so that graduates are well equipped for careers in both the technical and managerial aspects of food production.

The core courses explore fundamental principles and innovative practices so that those undertaking this training can apply their knowledge proficiently to safety, quality and the microbiological issues in the food and beverage manufacturing and related industries.

MSc programmes last for one year (September to August inclusive) and include a substantial research project.

The Diploma covers the same classes as the MSc but lasts for just 9 months (September to May inclusive).

Students admitted to the Diploma programme and who perform well in the taught courses may be invited to transfer to the MSc programme.
