Course Overview

The Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction degree integrates information studies, computer science, education, psychology and engineering to prepare HCI leaders of the future. The Master of Science in Human Computer Interaction (HCIM) is a unique cross disciplinary degree program that integrates information studies, computer science, education, psychology and engineering to prepare future HCI leaders in industry, government, education and other sectors.

Through coursework and research experiences, students in this program will develop skills in the fundamentals of HCI, advanced research methods, usability analysis and testing, social computing strategies and technologies, and technology design. With the aid on an advisor, the HCIM student devises a plan of study to meet graduation requirements: three core courses, a required internship, a thesis or capstone project, and elective courses for a total of 30 credit hours.
