Course Overview
This program serves graduates from bachelor's degree programs that wish to develop expertise in literacy instruction. This might include elementary and secondary teachers, those who work in college developmental programs, family literacy programs, adult basic education, GED and high school equivalency programs, or workplace literacy programs. Students will be able to strengthen their competencies and acquire new Ideas and skills. Elementary, secondary and K-12 teachers may earn a reading endorsement on their teaching certificate if so desired. Coursework taken in the program may be used for the continuing education requirement for teacher certification in Michigan and includes the reading course required for professional certification. The program is not intended as an initial certification program.
