Course Overview

MA Translation Studies, University of Sheffield You'll study modern languages in the context of the history and current theory of translation. You'll learn how to use the standard strategies, procedures and techniques of translators, as well as enhancing your interpretative and analytical skills. We'll help you develop your ability to translate from at least one language (current translation options are: from English into Arabic, Chinese, Polish, and Italian or translation from Czech, Dutch, French, German, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish into English). There are lectures, seminars, small-group work and workshops. Professionals contribute to the course and there are opportunities to work on research projects with partner organisations.
