This MSc Wastes Management programme has been specifically designed to meet the needs and demands of the modern wastes management industry. Consequently, there is now a strong demand for wastes management graduates. There are opportunities in industry, local and national authorities, as well as within the specialist wastes management industry. Students from this course have also gone on to MPhil and PhD studies at the University of Northampton. Methods of Learning, The basis for online learning (at a distance) is the module learning material, which contains essential study material covering all learning outcomes. NILE is where the Module Tutors provide module materials, web links and further reading resources. Candidates can expect one-to-one support with the tutors via NILE, email, telephone, Skype and face-to-face if required. The culmination of the MSc is completion of the 60 credit independent research project. You should be considering the area of research you want undertake while completing your other modules. Schedule, Length of study, Three years (typically) via Distance Learning. Start date, September, February and May (distance learning) Assessments: Assessment is by coursework, oral presentations, group work, practical reports, critical reviews and all Master's level students undertake a substantial independent research thesis. Students can expect between two and three items of assessment per 20 credit module. Assignments are submitted electronically via NILE unless otherwise instructed to do so. These are then marked, with the feedback and grades made available to students through NILE.
