Complementary & Alternative Medicine

Complementary and alternative medicine is the popular name for health care practices that traditionally have not been part of conventional medicine. The aim of a Master’s in Complementary & Alternative is for students to be able to help people with cancer, persistent pain, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and many other conditions better manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life by reducing fatigue, pain and anxiety. This is done by using common practices such as acupuncture, aromatherapy, massage therapy, music therapy and more. Graduates from Complementary & Alternative Medicine work in hospitals, clinics or health centres. Others open their own practices or become therapists that visit patients in their own homes.
